Registered or Certified Substance Use Disorder Counselor for DUI – Bilingual (English/Spanish) Indio office
Substance Use Disorder Counselor for groups/educations/face to face sessions. DUI Experience preferred but not required.
Evening availability Monday-Friday and bilingual (English/Spanish) desired.
Qualifications/Skills/Education/Experience
-Group facilitation
-Familiarity with 12 step and other recovery programs
-Case management (processing attendance, entering group notes, documenting individual progress)
-Effective communication skills to work with fellow staff and program participants
-Familiarity with standard business software and equipment (Computers, printers, Microsoft Office Suite, copier, office phones)
-After training work independently without close supervision
-CADTP, CCAPP, or CAADE registration or certification
Provide educational information about alcohol and other drugs and their effects on the individual, family, society, and the legal system. Will provide services in group and individual settings. Candidates should be able to discuss the characteristics of addiction and have a working familiarity with DUI rules and regulations. The counselor position has the responsibility for leading groups in an interactive fashion and creating a caring and non-judgmental atmosphere that enhances group cohesion and mutual support. Counselors must understand the charting requirements (electronic and written), program rules and regulations, and must adhere to the Code of Ethics.
Pay starts at $20/hr for registered counselors, $22/hr for certified up to $25/hr depending on experience
