  • How the Body Releases Trauma and Restores Goodness- FREE Virtual Presentation
    12:00 pm-1:30 pm
    July 24, 2020

Dr. Jessica Rodriguez was extensively trained by Dr. Peter Levine to effectively utilize the power of Somatic Experiencing and Polyvagal Theory. I’ve worked with endless numbers of clients, continued research, training and my own clinical experience.
For this Virtual presentation, I will be sharing work by Dr. Peter Levine (polyvagal and somatic experiencing). If your clients are stuck in cycles of anxiety, fear, distress, and unhappiness, quite often it is compounded by experiences of trauma and abuse. They need simple, but effective inner guidance to find their way back to safety, connection, and hope. Through somatic experiencing and polyvagal theory, we gain insight into how memories and the brain circuits involved in maintaining these memories empower trauma to influence how we think, feel, and interact. Dr. Levine has been a heroic pioneer in explaining how the damaging emotional memories associated with trauma are locked in our body.
Through extensive research and clinical experience, I’ve developed strategies and practical tools that any therapist can use to enhance your work. I am confident your “stuck clients” may be able overcome anxiety, grief, disconnected relationships and more. I am confident many of you have clients that are immobilized by fear without understanding the reason for it? They deserve to know and how they can manage it and move towards healing.
The key is not to try and get rid of those feelings, but to help them understand that their nervous system knows the way back home. What they need is a map to understanding where they are and where they need to go. And once they have the map, they can access it at any time. Polyvagal Theory provides one of the most effective maps that can treat and get our clients on the way towards treatment and for most, lasting healing! It pinpoints the state of our client’s nervous system and provides specific guidance and tools to lead them out of the pain in a language that makes sense so clients can continue the work long after they’ve left your office.
